The list of all insured reasons for cancellation can be found in the information sheet. The most important reasons are:
If an insured event occurs (e.g. a person falling sick), the following insured co-travellers can also cancel:
The family tariff applies to up to 7 persons travelling together, not more than 2 of whom are adults (18th birthday before the date of the start of the trip).
These persons do not have to be related to each other. A joint residence is not required.
When the premium is being calculated the family tariff is automatically proposed if this is more favourable for you than the single tariff and you enter a maximum of 7 persons of whom not more than 2 are adults.
If you would like to insure children and more than 2 adult persons, you can also combine the family tariff with the single tariff, for example: Married couple with 4 children under 18 and grandmother

Yes, if your actual means of transport is a coach, train or your own vehicle, and you are only using a ferry for a short part of your journey, you can still take out Coach/Rail/Car-Cover.
Provided you have not started your trip, you can take out a Coach/Rail/Car-Cover policy. If you take out cover via the Internet site, your insurance policy will be immediately displayed and sent to you by email by way of confirmation.
Please note however that if insurance is taken out later than three days after the booking date, a “waiting period” applies in respect of cancellation benefits, i.e. the cancellation cover applies only from the 10th day after the insurance has been taken out (except in the case of accident, death or act of God).
For example: if you book your summer holiday in January and take out travel insurance on 1 March, the cover in respect of cancellation does not start until 11 March.
If you take out Coach/Rail/Car-Cover via our Internet site, your insurance policy will be displayed immediately by way of confirmation. You will also receive your policy by email within the following few minutes.
In your insurance policy you will find full information on the insurance you have taken out, and the link to the information sheet, so that you can call up full information on the product at any time.
Coach/Rail/Car-Cover can also be taken out for business trips.
Please note however that Coach/Rail/Car-Cover does not provide any cover for business luggage and manual activities that have to be carried out during the trip for professional reasons.
If you are looking for a product that offers cover in this situation also, we recommend our annual product Annual-Complete-Cover Standard extended with the additional package "Business luggage & manual activity".
If you unexpectedly become ill during an insured trip, we reimburse the treatment costs (even if the originally planned end of your trip is already past) until such time as we can transport you back to Austria, for a maximum of 90 days following the occurrence of the insured event.
