Customers with international travel health insurance from European Travel Insurance are covered up to 1 million euros for inpatient treatments and up to 100% for outpatient treatments. In the case of an insured hospital treatment, customers of European Travel Insurance do not need to pay the often very high costs of inpatient treatment on-site.
"As soon as a confirmed diagnosis is established and the necessary treatment steps are presented to the insurance by the hospital, European Travel Insurance guarantees the costs incurred with a cost coverage confirmation," informs Mag. Wolfgang Lackner, CEO of European Travel Insurance. After the patient's discharge, the treatment costs are settled directly with the hospital.
For outpatient treatment, you usually pay the costs on-site first. After your return, you can submit the costs to European Travel Insurance and have them reimbursed to your account, with a deductible of 20% being considered.
However, you can first contact your social insurance, which will cover its statutory share. The remaining amount can then be submitted to European Travel Insurance, and you will be fully reimbursed for your expenses.
