Waldviertel

Styrian Krakau
The hike on Schattnerberg high above the Krakau Valley is beautiful but very challenging. In addition to green moss, there is a lovely mixed forest of old spruces and larches. The panoramic view toward the Gstoder is definitely the highlight of the hike. Especially in autumn, this tour is a dream hike with many scenic viewpoints.
Lechweg
If you’re a fan of river hikes, this is definitely for you. The hiking route stretches 125 kilometers along gorge-like river valleys, shady forests, and mountain meadows. The stunning views of Bavarian royal castles alone make this hike worthwhile. The Lechweg can be completed in three variations, making it suitable even for occasional hikers on a walking holiday.
Längsee
Längsee is a natural and barely developed small bathing lake in central Carinthia, nestled in the mountains. There are hiking and cycling routes of varying difficulty levels. Highlights of the region include Hochosterwitz Castle, Taggenbrunn Castle, and the historic St. George’s Abbey at Längsee.
